Vaginal repair

vagina surgery  is an operation to lift and strengthen the walls of vagina and restore it to normal. It is often referred to as colporrhaphy.
Vaginal repair is performed to correct a prolapse, it is a situation in which the ligaments supporting the vagina and uterus have weakened and therefore are stretched and loose due to childbirth and age. Although, prolapse may predominates all the ligaments and muscles of the pelvic floor, which are interconnected in most cases, it is important to strengthen the entire pelvic support structure, as the extra pressure could cause prolapse in another site. Vaginoplasty is a female genital surgical procedure that tightens the vagina surrounding muscles and soft tissues. This surgery leads to increased friction while having sex, and usually enhances sexual satisfaction.
The surgical procedure for vaginal relaxation takes place when the vaginal support loses their tone, strength and control. The vagina becomes quite roomy and slack, since it is supporting muscles and tissues have grown, stretched and torn during childbirth. Unfortunately, it usually does not return to its pre-pregnancy state, and the vagina is no longer at its best possible sexual functioning state. Many women complain lack of sensation during sexual intercourse, which reduces sexual satisfaction for them and for their partners. It is extremely common to feel disharmony and resentment. Even worse, the emotional toll with loss of self-esteem and confidence can lead to anxiety about entering in a relationship or even guilt, self-blame or depression.
Some women complain on vaginal air-trapping or vaginal wind, which may be very embarrassing. It may occur by itself and sometimes during sexual intercourse. The same goes for vaginal water trapping, with annoying dribbling of fluid coming out when in the tub or pool.
Vaginal tightening surgery restores the stretched or damaged supporting tissues and the muscles of the perineum. The stretched and excess vaginal skin is taken away, resulting in immediate decrease in vaginal size, which ought to allow more friction and return of sensation during sexual intercourse.
There are various methods to do the procedure depending on the extent of the repair. Your specialist will talk about the technique he/she will use. Typically, your specialist makes a cut through the vaginal wall. The outside walls from the vagina are lifted up and based on attachment to pelvic ligaments. The incision will be sewn up inside using dissolvable stitches, so you will have no visible scars.
Occasionally the surgery is performed via a cut made in the skin of your lower abdomen (around the surface of a bikini brief). In all cases, a catheter (tube) is put in to the bladder to collect urine.
The procedure usually requires you to stay two or three days in hospital. It is completed with a general anesthetic, and that means you are going to be asleep throughout.
This is a surgical treatment that tightens the exterior vaginal wall to correct a cystocele (the sinking of the bladder into the vagina) or urethrocele (the sinking from the urethra in to the vagina). A rectocele (the bulging from the rectum into the vagina) is repaired by tightening the posterior vaginal wall.
